Welcome to Shire 911 – Alpha test version .02

The purpose of Shire 911 is to provide an emergency number for Shire Society members to call if they need to talk to a real human being, as opposed to calling an automated system like Porc 411.

Right now the system works as follows:

If you could use assistance in an emergency, you call Shire 911 at 866-603-0911.

The phone rings to our call center, which is typically staffed.  At this time, there is no guarantee you will reach someone, as it’s an all-volunteer service, so keep that in mind.

You should inform the operator that you are calling for Shire 911.

There are more exciting methods of handling calls coming down the line, so please be patient as the service improves and expands. Bear with us as we improve the system, as we are just getting started.  Stay tuned to this site and the Shire 911 Facebook page for the latest.
